Muhammad: The Final and Universal Messenger of Allah

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the son of Abdullah, was the final messenger sent by Allah to guide all of humanity. His message was not limited to one tribe, nation, or time. It was universal, meant for everyone, everywhere.

By the time his mission began, humanity had reached a stage of maturity. People were ready for a complete and timeless message that could guide them in every part of life. This message came from Allah, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, who knows the needs of His creation better than anyone.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not bring a new religion. He came with the same truth that all prophets had taught before him: belief in one God, living righteously, and guiding others to goodness. His message completed and perfected what had come before.

Allah says in the Qur’an:

“We have not sent you except to all of mankind, as a bringer of good news and a warner, but most people do not know.”
(Surah Saba, 34:28)

Unlike previous prophets who were sent to specific peoples, Muhammad’s mission was for everyone. He is the last and final messenger, and there will be no prophet after him. Allah says:

“Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets.”
(Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:40)

The Qur’an was revealed to him as the final divine scripture, confirming the earlier revelations that had been sent to the prophets before him. Allah says:

“We have revealed to you the Book in truth, confirming what came before it of Scripture and as a guardian over it.”
(Surah Al-Ma’idah, 5:48)

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born in Makkah into the noble Quraysh tribe. His lineage traced back to Prophet Ishmael, the son of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon them both).

His father passed away before he was born, and his mother died when he was six years old. His grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, then took care of him. After his grandfather’s death, his uncle Abu Talib became his guardian and loved him deeply.

Even as a child, Muhammad (peace be upon him) was known for his honesty, kindness, and good manners. People trusted him completely and called him Al-Amin, meaning “the trustworthy one.” He stayed away from idol worship and the corruption that filled his society, living with purity and dignity long before his prophethood.

As a young man, he worked as a shepherd, then became a trader known for his fairness and honesty. At the age of twenty-five, he married Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, a noble and respected woman of Makkah who admired his character. Their marriage was built on love, trust, and mutual respect.

Before he received revelation, Muhammad (peace be upon him) often spent time in reflection. Every year, he would retreat to the Cave of Hira, away from the city, to pray and think deeply about life and truth.

It was during one of these nights in the cave that everything changed. The angel Gabriel came to him with the first revelation, marking the beginning of his mission as the final messenger of Allah.
