The Message of Islam

Islam means submitting to Allah — believing in His Oneness, obeying Him, and freeing yourself from disbelief and false gods.

From the very beginning of humanity, Allah chose Islam as the way of life for all people. In the Qur’an, Allah says:

“Today I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and chosen Islam as your way of life.” (Qur’an 5:3)

Throughout history, Allah sent prophets and messengers to guide people toward truth and peace. The final messenger was Muhammad (peace be upon him). Allah says:

“And this was the legacy that Abraham left to his sons, and so did Jacob; ‘O my sons! Allah has chosen the Faith for you; then do not die except in the Faith of Islam.’” (Qur’an 2:132)

Allah also says:

“And behold! I inspired the Disciples to have faith in Me and My Messenger. They said, ‘We have faith, and bear witness that we submit to Allah as Muslims.’” (Qur’an 5:111)

And Allah said to Moses:

“O my people! If you truly believe in Allah, then put your trust in Him if you have submitted yourselves to Him.” (Qur’an 10:84)

Islam is not something new. It’s the same message that was revealed to earlier prophets — the message of believing in one God and living with righteousness and mercy.

The prophets who came before Muhammad (peace be upon him) — Adam, Noah, Abraham (Ibrahim), Lot, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Solomon, Jonah, Job, Zechariah, John (Yahya), Joseph, Moses, Aaron, David, Jesus, and others (peace be upon them all) — all carried this same truth.

Every prophet was chosen by Allah to guide their people. They all taught the same foundation of faith: to worship Allah alone. While their laws and forms of worship sometimes differed, their core message was always the same — submission to Allah.

Some prophets were given divine books to guide their people, like the Torah given to Moses, the Psalms given to David, and the Gospel given to Jesus. Others were given strong support from Allah to spread His word, just as Abraham and Aaron worked together to uphold the message.

Islam is therefore not a new religion. It’s the final form of the same timeless truth — the message of all prophets, calling humanity to worship Allah alone and live in peace through His guidance.
